In post-war Japan, a traumatized kamikaze pilot struggles to rebuild his life in the ruins of a defeated nation. But when a massive, prehistoric creature known as Godzilla emerges from the ocean, unleashing unstoppable destruction, he is forced to confront his guilt and find the courage to stand against a new catastrophe threatening what little remains of his country.
